How to negotiate your desire salary when asked during the interview. 3 Simple Tips to answers the questions

 Hai, Augie here!

This post, we will talk on how to actually convey our desired salary that makes sense to the interviewer.

1) When asked, ask back on the range they can offered.

A quick example, when they questions with “what is your salary expectation”. Ask them back “what is the range for this position?” When answers you could actually know how much they expected to actually paid you for that position. Besides, tell them to explain more on the responsibilities and goals on that particular position.

2) If you don’t have any specific amount

If you don’t have that answers, tell them about the common paid salary in the area of expertise. Or if you want to be safe, tell them the amount you was paid before you applied for this job. Let’s say “ I don’t have the specific amount, but i had been paid around 200£-300£ in the past 3 years.

3) If you want to discuss with them

Even when you want to talk on this, remember to always stress on how you were paid before. The easier answers would be “ I am open to discussing between 300£-400£ but that is also depends on other factors like benefits, responsibilities, target and other intangibles things. Say what you expect from people filling in this position. However i would like to say that i have been paid this ‘amount’ recently”

I will be updating this later when there is other helpful tips on this. Thank you for reading!
